Dr. Hüseyin Cumhur Tekin received his BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2005, and from Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland in 2007, respectively. He obtained his PhD degree in Microsystems and Microelectronics at EPFL in 2012 as being nominated for Lausanne City award for high quality of his thesis. He worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in EPFL, Harvard Medical School and Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection at Stanford School of Medicine, respectively. Afterwards, Dr. Tekin has founded Saniber Ltd. in 2015 with the support of Ministry of Science, Technology and Industry, Turkey. He then joined Bioengineering Department of Izmir Institute of Technology in 2016 and established the Laboratory of Biomedical Micro and Nanosystems. His current interests lie in developing micro and nanotechnologies, point-of-care instruments and telemedicine systems for biomedical applications. He aims to make difference in healthcare services by providing rapid, easy to use and cost effective systems, devices and mobile apps for medical field. Furthermore, Dr. Tekin is a board member of Eurasian Centre for Advanced Research of IZTECH and is also an academic board member of Photonics Department of IZTECH.
